Bunker Works
When exploring bunkers in the coastal dunes of South Holland in The Netherlands the appearance of random paintings and sculptures caught my attention. Various openings in the bunkers, not used since World War Two and The Cold War, have become works of art; Bunker Works. The deteriorating structures, encroachment of nature and accumulation of detritus form wonderful still life images, though they are not still life at all, but only a moment captured in the life of constantly changing compositions. With the passing of days and seasons, the growth flourishes and dies off, the fabric crumbles and sand and leaves are carried in by the wind and rain and new pictures are continually created.
